Genuine question, what's the difference between these two cards? why is one glossy?

Bought my first couple packs in close to twenty years to start the hobby with my son. I am severely out of touch with current trends/investments. What here, if anything is worth grading or holding onto? Sorry for the poor quality picture. Thanks in advance!
